'Donkey's Tail' Peaks Over a Container's Edge

A Donkey's Tail sedum starts to make its way over the side of a burgundy container. Behind the sedum sit several other succulents, including a Silver Dollar Plant, Tiger Tooth Aloe, and Aeonium Zwartkop.

Sedum is known for its trailing and ground cover properties, and is great for containers or hanging baskets. As with most succulents, it prefers fast-draining soil. This particular planter contains one part Perlite, one part gravel, and two parts cactus soil. The container composition is less than two weeks old.

Despite their preference for dry conditions, many succulents cannot withstand the blazing El Paso sun and should be placed in part shade.
